4 Easy Miles
How is everyone doing this evening? Tonight was another easy run. I did 4 easy miles. I can’t believe that I am feeling this good before the race.
4.0 miles, 34:31, 8:38 pace, 663 cal. My last 2 miles I did at 8:15 and 8:10 respectively. I did not even feel anything when I did the last two miles. I did not even look at my watch for the last two miles. My body feel great. Nice and relaxed. I will keep you updated this entire weekend on the events.
I will run about 2 miles tmw and then three on Saturday with my running coach and then hit the expo. We are going out to a pasta dinner at Six and then it’s off to bed for a good nights sleep. Then its race day.
I am looking forward to running well on Sunday.

Today was a great day for running. I am on my taper so I ran easy. I have to remark that after every speedwork I run faster the next day for my easy run. Tonight I did an easy 5k.
3.1, 27:21, 8:49 pace,515 cal. I felt great and am getting very anxious about the upcoming race. I think that all will be good. Tonight I went out and started doing 7:45 to start out for the first 1/2 mile. I am ready and just waiting for race day.

What a beautiful weekend
I just want to say that is was a beautiful weekend this weekend. Gosh! Why can’t we have more of these weekends more often? It was great for being outside.
Last night I did 4 miles 38:48, 9:42 pace, 666 cal. Last night I felt a little sluggish and did not feel like running last night. I got through the run though. That is what counts. Sometimes the only thing that gets me going is the fact I know I will be at peace and in my mind I can go to places that I can’t when I am not running.
Tonight I did 8 miles in 1:22:33, 10:18 pace, 1339 cal, now I was not feeling this run tonight. I just wanted to get through it. I did not feel like running tonight. First of all the heat did not feel great. I got a 1/2 mile and I was already drenched. It was 7:15 at night so I thought it would be alright. It was really hot during the run. It did cool down half way through the run. By the last mile I just wanted to be done. I completed the run and that is all that counts. I think that I am going to have to really hydrate more at night as the warmer weather rolls in.
By this time next week I will have had my first race since the Baltimore Marathon. I am looking forward to the Broad Street 10 miler. I have been training really hard and looking to beat my personal best 1:26. I am on taper all week. I will be heading to Philly Saturday morning. I will keep you all posted of my time.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend,
Run long and fast

Nice easy Run in Beautiful Weather
I must say that today was great. I think spring time is really here. It was 70 here today. I just enjoyed the day and ran later on in the evening. I was beautiful running. I felt kind of sluggish at the start of my run today but as I got into it I felt more comfortable.
I ran 4.88 miles at 9:48 pace, 809 cal, 526 ascent, my last 2 miles were 8:54 and 7:51. I just feel so much better as the miles get longer. I don’t know what it is but I just feel good.
I did go to the gym after and do about 30 mins of stretching and strength training. I think this really helps me with my running. I don’t stretch as much as I should but I do try to do exercises that help me build my core which helps with running.
Well, have a good run, bike and swim this weekend.
Run happy,

30 Min Tempo Run
Today I ran on the track and the weather was great. I did a 30 min tempo run.
4 miles in 30:30 7:37 pace, 669 cal. I did a 2 mile warm up and a 1.39 cool down. I felt really spent tonight. I gave it all I had tonight. When I was done with the tempo run I felt like throwing up. I was coughing all over the place. Then I felt great after about 5 mins during my cool down. I am looking forward to Broad Street. I think I am going to do well. I have an easy run tmw and then I am into my taper for Broad Street.
I can’t wait to update you on my run. Thanks for all of you who follow my blogs. You Rock!
To all of you who are training for something or just out to make yourself fitter. That is great. . .as long as you’re moving. That is all that matters.
Until next time. . .run happy and run long. . .

8 Miles Easy
I ran late in the evening tonight. I weather was really comfortable. I was going to do 4 miles in the morning and 4 at night. But I just decided to do 8 all at once.
I did 8 miles in 1:13:43, 9:12 pace, 1330 cal, 783 ft ascent. I was not intending to run that fast but I felt really comfortable so I just went with the feel. The first half I did in 38:30 and the second half in 35:13. I did my last four miles in under 9 mins. My last mile I did in 8:17. I felt great tonight.
I am just relaxing now and kicking back watching American Idol.

Speedwork before the rain
I must admit that today I am spent from speedwork. I went hard today. Last week I avg around 3:41 for 800’s and this week I did 400’s. I avg 1:33 for 400’s.
I did 7x 400’s at 1:33. I did 5 miles of warm-up and cooldown including speed today. I burned 794 cal. I really pushed through this workout today. I did not have 8 in me today. If I had done 8 I would not have made it.
I came in just in time before the rain. It is pouring right now and I am glad I am in and out of the rain. I am feeling very good about my progress. I am doing well. I am knocking seconds off my workouts everytime I go out. Its all about feeling comfortable in my medium. When I am running I am in that medium. . . .a very happy medium.
So that is it for today. I am counting down to Broad Street. Its getting close. My coach thinks that I can run a 118 or better but I don’t know. I am going to push for that. My PR was in the Annapolis 10 Miler in Maryland. 1:26. I must admit that I am in much better shape now than I was back then in ‘07. We shall see though.
Happy running to you all

Boston Marathon
Today is a rest day for me and I really needed it. I was a little sore today. I got some speed work to do tmw. I am doing fine though. It rained here today. It was not the best weather.
I just wanted to send a shoutout to all of you who completed Boston today. My running coach set a PR of 3:04:39 today. Great job Jeff. He called me from Boston tonight. He said that he got tired around 20 miles in. He said the head wind was bad. I watched the race tonight online. I saw the Hanson Brooks team on the start line of the race.
It looked like it was going to be a great day for American marathoners in Boston with Ryan Hall and Sara Goucher. They both looked great all the way through the race. Ryan went out really fast and I think that it got him in the end. But nonetheless he did great with a 3rd place finish. Sara Goucher looked great until mile 25.5. Her 3rd place finish to me was great against the Kenyan and Ephiopian lepards.
I think today they showed that American marathoners can compete with the best in the world. Great Job Ryan and Sara!
